The Future of Healing Isn’t AI, It’s You

The Future of Healing Isn’t AI - It’s You!

The future of healing isn’t AI - it’s you. There’s a lot of buzz right now about AI tools diagnosing imbalances, recommending & stimulating acupressure points, or even guiding “energy work.” But here’s our bold prediction:

👉 The more AI invades healing spaces, the more people will crave the human intelligence of skilled bodywork.

Because healing is not a protocol. It’s not a template. And it sure isn’t something you can fully understand through data alone. Your heart, your hands, your intuition, your perceptual skills: these are treasures that can only come from you.

Some Specific Treatment Examples

Here’s a brief story about some recent treatments I did here in our practice.

A woman came in with debilitating neck pain. A standard protocol might have said, “focus on C2 and the shoulder girdle.” But the moment I laid hands on her, I could feel something deeper; her whole system was holding unresolved grief, especially around the chest and diaphragm. I shifted focus to this priority. As I worked through the central channel and worked to restore more of the cranial rhythm through some of the cranial bones and in the sternum, tears began to surface. She said, “That was the first time I felt like someone actually heard what my body was trying to say.”

No massage chair could have done that. No electric stimulation therapy could have diagnosed the other dimensions of her symptoms.

Another client - same complaint, similar neck pain - but not the same approach. I could feel his nervous system and musculature compressed and exhausted from a lifetime of managing the challenge of only being able to see through one eye. The priority was to begin unwinding some of the restrictions in his upper spine, cervical musculature, and cranial bones/membranes.

Two people. Similar symptoms. Different stories written into their bodies and a different approach in how to release restrictions and free up the flow of life force. This is the difference between artificial intelligence and biological intelligence. Between data and intuition. Between “doing a treatment” and truly listening.

Biological Intelligence is different than Artificial Intelligence

Of course we know this. But sometimes it’s helpful to reflect on why and make sure to amplify the unique and empowering gift you can offer your clients because you are a living, breathing, feeling person who doesn’t get everything right and who understands what it is like to hurt, to ache, to grieve, to love.

AI might get smarter, and it can help make many of our daily tasks easier. It has lots of value to support our creativity and ideas. But the body? The body is already wise. And the practitioners who learn to trust that wisdom, refine their perception, and work with it directly will always be more effective than any machine.

What do you think? Can AI ever match the intuition and presence of a skilled bodyworker? What’s a specific thing you did recently during a treatment that could not be replicated from an automated tool?
