Shiatsu is an ancient form of therapeutic bodywork that uses pressure, stretching and structural manipulations to balance energy (also called ki or chi).  Shin Tai is an innovative form of shiatsu developed by Saul Goodman over the last 35 years.  It focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of the governing vessel & conception vessel meridians.

We teach practitioners unique skills so that they can offer cutting edge hands-on-healing work to their clients.  The ability to give transformative treatments is the key to attracting and retaining clients, and an opportunity to find more inspiration while giving treatments.

Core Shin Tai Courses:  Governing Vessel/Spine & Conception Vessel/Hara

The two core courses of shin tai study are Governing Vessel & the Spine and Conception Vessel & the Hara.  They are taught in 6-day modules that incorporate theory and technique in a practical and creative protocol.  These courses give practitioners the tools to facilitate a new level of freedom and power for their clients.

The governing vessel (GV) and the conception vessel (CV) are the regulators of all the acupuncture meridians. Together they form the most primitive part of the energy system, and can be considered to be the “core information system”. Until now, there has not been any specific technique or diagnosis presented within shiatsu or any other bodywork modality that addresses manual treatment of this system. Shin Tai offers this in a comprehensive, precise, and highly effective protocol.

The most exceptional feature of these two meridians [GV and CV] is that they regulate the flow of energy in all the regular meridians.

Taking it further:  Shin Tai Structure

facilitating mobility & alignment of the spine &  pelvis

In this Shin Tai module, practitioners learn how to evaluate and correct specific misalignments of the hips, sacrum, and spine.  They will learn passive muscle/energy corrections to bring about immediate changes in posture and structure that last over time.  Using these techniques applied in a priority of treatment that is unique to Shin Tai, practitioners will experience a new dimension of client response and treatment results.

Improved alignment and motion of the hip joints and spine help to solve numerous client complaints such as back, shoulder and neck pain.  It also brings improvement to hormonal, nervous, and circulatory problems.  Increased mobility of the hip joints also improves reproductive and sexual function for women and men.

Advanced Shin Tai:  Central Channel

the jazz of bodywork

The Central Channel is a circuit of energy or life force that moves along the pathway of the spinal cord.  This Shin Tai course teaches practitioners to evaluate and unlock specific stress patterns held along this pathway (the governing vessel) in the meninges. Central Channel work is unique, powerful, and creative.  It is like the jazz of the bodywork world.  Using non-force techniques, practitioners learn to identify and work with six distinct stages of stress to release and reintegrate trapped life force.

Shin Thai has transformed the way I work, and has added a new dimension of healing possibilities for my clients. The first Shin Thai class I took was Governing Vessel and The Spine in December 2011, and the class material gave me a new way of observing and releasing life force for clients. It was quite a profound experience! I use these techniques daily, and this work has facilitated healing in my clients, as well as myself. By far one of the best classes I’ve taken in the 15 years I’ve been a bodyworker.

I like this work very much and have been practicing for over 20 years. The efficiency of it surprises me all the time as a professional bodyworker and Shin Tai teacher in Switzerland.

Shin Tai:  A Potent Opportunity

Students of Shin Tai (also called Life Force Recovery) report that they achieve efficient, powerful results with their clients. They find fulfillment in helping others increase health and emotional well-being in a natural way. Rather than acting as a 'healer' who 'changes' things that are 'wrong', they instead facilitate the flow of a receiver's own life force to do the work of healing.  When you take a Shin Tai course, you can expect the following:

  • You will become a better bodyworker. You will achieve more results in less time with your clients.

  • You will gain skills to give a very effective healing session to friends and family.

  • You will understand the underlying physiology of what you are doing and why it liberates the flow of life force.

  • You will expand into a new range of perception that will give you the capacity to give deeply transformative treatments and assist in your own self-development.

  • You will learn a set of skills that can develop into a fulfilling career that contributes to the well-being of our world.

So many people are struggling with physical, emotional and mental challenges. The barrage of stress factors that introduce compression into our systems seems to be escalating. Learning efficient, powerful techniques to open up the flow of life force is a potent opportunity for you to help shift someone toward vitality, rather than disintegration and deterioration. Bodywork is a critical point for expanding health and consciousness on this planet, and you can be a part of this movement towards a higher frequency of human functioning.
